Nimrata Haley: Counter-productive

It is interesting to watch Nimrata “Nikki” Haley speak as she fills the chair of the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.

Starting to look like John Kerry                              Wincing

She spoke about security in the Middle East and pointed her finger at Iran.  She said, with a straight face, that they have destabilized the region.

One would think that being diplomatic should be a prerequisite to having a position as the Ambassador to the United Nations.  Evidently not.

The U.S. needs to be an even-handed broker in the Middle East, and this is important to global security.  If Nimrata Haley makes grotesque statements like she did here, this will only alienate most of the people in the region.  She will only deepen division, harden distrust, and inflame hatred;  she will only worsen the astonishing level of violence in the region, and this will do no one any good–who is not selling weapons or benefiting otherwise from war.
